New Uganda Import Regulations

New Uganda Import Regulations

The Uganda Revenue Authority has introduced a C36 form to determine the Customs value for ad valorem Customs duty purposes.

This is for customs authorities to have full knowledge of all the facts relating to any commercial transaction or purchase involving any imported goods. They require the importer to furnish a written declaration of facts, in Form C36, in addition to the Goods declaration (inward) and the commercial documents (also attached). This is effective 5th May 2018.

Therefore, for every import shipment this raft of documents must be attached with this completed form to prevent long delays in the customs release process.
