Ghana Revenue Authority will put into effect the Cargo Tracking Notes (CTN) system on 15th October 2018.
The official announcement states:
Helping to provide a reliable trade database to benchmark and protect Government Revenue in import duties and taxes through the seaports of Ghana.
Generating Key prior shipment information in real-time to Customs and other stakeholders to effectively Control, Supervise and
Manage import traffic to Ghana.
Plugging identified LOOPHOLES and LEAKAGES in the import revenue mobilisation process in order to preserve the sanctity and integrity of Customs valuation of Goods and Freight”.
