Packing Services Structure and Quality Management

The Country Manager and Manager for International Relocation, Export Packing, Shipping, and Storage Services is Mr. Guy Shepherd (033 11 486 58).

Our Team Leader, Claude Soloherinaina, has 15 years of packing supervision & ably assisted by experienced packers:

-Mr Jaona Rafanomezantsoa (17 years international removal packing experience)

-Mr. Alfred Rakotomanana (16 years international removal packing experience)

-Mr Lanto Ralaimalala (10 years international removal packing experience).

-Mr Tojo Razafindrakoto - 2 years experience under our close supervision

Mr. Shepherd and Mr. Soloherinaina are directly responsible for all surveying, estimations, packing, inventory, crating, weighing, marking, customer relations and any special handling. They alternate as estimator for on site pre-shipment surveys of household effects and they evaluate and provide in writing, calculations of volume, weight, and work to be undertaken per job.

Mr. Jaona is responsible for the control, maintenance, and inventory of all packing materials, tools, and general machinery. The packing materials used for every move are tracked and reported to Mr. Ramala. Purchase, orders and requests for services are made through him. Mr. Jaona is also responsible for maintenance, supervision and management of the warehouse.

Vehicle maintenance is the direct responsibility of the driver, Mr. Lanto, and is reviewed by Mr. Jaona and reported to the office on a weekly basis. All drivers have a valid heavy goods license and are fully cognizant of the local laws and customs. They are also responsible to ensure they have all the required permits.

Mr. Shepherd maintains regular spot checks, manages the quality control, and answers any queries not directly related to surveys, or packing. He is also responsible for international and local requests for bids and rate requests, as well as liaison with affiliated agents. All quotations and contracts, pre-movement organization, waybills, and forwarding are directed and approved through his office.

All transport, customs, or clearing related queries for inbound and outbound surface shipments are directed to Mr. Claude Soloherinaina. All customs or clearing related queries for inbound and outbound air shipments are directed to him as well.

The packing teams provide all equipment and materials for packing: book cartons, barrels, wardrobes, picture boxes, cases, padding, waterproofing, crates of grade dry lumber, mothproofing, packing paper and tissue, polythene lining, and steel banding. They also ensure that during work in progress, tarpaulin, drop cloth or canvas will protect the floors and work surfaces.

Our Team Leaders can speak, read and write fluent English, French and Malagasy.

Our entire packing staff has been provided with Worldwide Movers Uniforms, which consist of forest green polo neck T-shirts, khaki trousers, and boots. All T-shirts are emblazoned with the Worldwide Movers title and green lioness logo. Each packer is also issued with a marker pen a Stanley knife and identifying credentials. Company policy requires each individual to turn out in clean, neat uniform.

During pack-ups, every packing team prepares an itemized inventory for each shipment as detailed in the contract. All items are detailed on the inventory and the checked and signed by both the packing supervisor and the shipper. Every packing team takes the greatest care in handling and packing, weighing and itemizing all household effects within each consignment. The packed items are then carefully loaded and stuffed directly into inspected and seaworthy containers or into prepared liftvans or airfreight crates. We also strive to accommodate packing as defined and set out in our various Industry Contracts and Conditions.

During deliveries, the goods are conscientiously unloaded. Every member of the delivery team meticulously cross checks every item delivered against the provided inventory, and reports any missing items or damages. The household goods are be unwrapped, unpacked, set up and positioned. Any damages or short counts are noted on the delivery receipt. The consignee and the delivery supervisor both sign the delivery receipt, all inventory pages, and the service evaluation. The packing debris is be removed at the time of delivery or at a date requested by the customer.

We can provide teams for local deliveries and packing anywhere in Madagascar. Our teams endeavor to protect all shipments and cargo from physical damage while in transit.

Our scale adheres to the Madagascar Government standards department of Weights and Measures at the Ministry of Commerce. The accuracy is periodically updated and certified.

All our staff is briefed on the environmental impact of our work. They are trained to be, and strive to be, diligent and caring of their surroundings. Our packing cartons are in standard brown craft color and we encourage the recycling of old materials. We have specially marked cartons in the office for the disposal of recyclable materials.
